Computers 2 Kids was proud to be featured on ABC 10News San Diego Connect in the segment “Computers 2 Kids: Helping Bridge the Digital Divide,” presented by our valued partner California Coast Credit Union.

The segment highlights a simple truth that drives our work every day: access to technology is access to opportunity. For students, a computer means being able to complete homework and build digital skills. For adults, it can mean applying for a job, accessing healthcare, managing finances, or pursuing new career opportunities. For families, technology provides a vital connection to resources that are increasingly essential to everyday life.

At C2K, we believe closing the digital divide requires more than providing a computer. Our programs combine affordable refurbished technology, internet-access resources, digital support, and workforce development to help individuals and families build lasting digital independence.

Today, C2K has distributed more than 309,000 computers, supported approximately 1.1 million children and adults, and diverted more than 23.3 million pounds of electronic waste from landfills—demonstrating that digital equity and environmental sustainability can go hand in hand.

We are especially grateful to California Coast Credit Union for helping amplify this work and for investing in communities where access to technology can open doors to education, employment, financial stability, and greater opportunity.

Partnerships like these are how we turn donated technology into something much bigger: a pathway forward.

Help Us Bridge the Digital Divide

Whether you donate retired technology, make a financial contribution, volunteer, or connect C2K with your company or community, you can help put technology—and opportunity—into the hands of someone who needs it.

Together, we can ensure that no one is left behind simply because they lack access to technology.
