My name is Alicia Sutton, and I’m a former senior at Valhalla High School and one of the grateful recipients of a computer from Computers 2 Kids.
Growing up wasn’t easy—my childhood was filled with challenges, including family trauma and personal struggles with eating disorders. But through it all, I found strength in my mom, stepdad, friends, and in the sport of lacrosse, which became my healthy outlet and community. Those experiences inspired me to pursue a degree in Child Psychology at Chico State University so I can help other children overcome their own hardships.
When I was accepted to college, I was uncertain about how I would afford everything I needed to succeed. Thanks to the Brad Fowler Memorial Foundation and Computers 2 Kids, I received both a scholarship and my very first new computer. The moment I got it, I felt a huge weight lift off my shoulders—now I’ll have the tools I need to do my schoolwork and thrive in college.
Thank you to Computers 2 Kids for truly changing the lives of young adults like me. Your generosity gives hope and opportunity where it’s needed most.
